Internet:
Comcast 150Mbps down/11Mbps up (a lot of times I get about 170Mbps down)
Router:
Firmware: 2.09NA
Devices connected:
Windows 7 Pro 64-Bit Desktop - ethernet connected 3 feet away from the router/modem
One cell phone
One Google Chromecast - about 20 feet away
One DLINK DAP-1320 - about 30 feet away
All was fine. No problems for a long time. I could go out in the back yard with my cell phone. The back yard is very close to the DAP-1320. Not sure what happened recently. No power outages that I remember. Same wireless setup.
I tried to show something to my relatives on the TV from the Chromecast. The connection kept getting lost. I also noticed that my cell phone won't stay connected to WiFi either... I keep getting a message about an unstable connection on my phone. I also get a message about a weak signal sometimes, even though the little icon shows full bars on the WiFi signal and I am usually a foot away from the router.
Finally last night I turned off the power on my cable modem and router and turned them back on. It was 1AM so I had to get to sleep as I wake up 7AM for work. That did not resolve my cell phone issue.
So I get home from work tonight and I unplug and plug back in the DAP-1320. That solved my cell phone issue. Maybe now the Chromecast will work now. I haven't tested it yet.
I did run a speed test, though, and I'm getting about 120Mbps down, and my upload is less than 1Mbps!
Any ideas what I should check? My PC shouldn't be this slow since it's on ethernet. Brand new cable too.. well 3 or 4 months old. All cables are securely pushed in.
Should I try turning off auto channel scan and changing it myself? I had it set on Width 20Mhz, but now I am trying Auto 20/40Mhz.
I have both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz on.
