Can I add a 2nd hard drive later?

Is it possible to use the DNS-327L with just a single hard drive initially and then later on if I want to expand (or maybe switch to using a RAID backup) add another hard drive then without having to format and start over?

I believe that is possible. You can start with one drive then add later on.
