cant remove folders on nas

Hey guys i cant remove folders on a pc using samba when i try to delete folders it says folder access denied you require permission from unix root user to make change to this folder but i can delete the contents inside the folder

Are you using a user account to access the DNS or the admin account of the DNS? Try using the admin account and see if you can remove the folders.

i deleted the folder from the web ui yes the user i used has a full access

Can you remove the folder using a Windows Explorer window?

Am I missing something again?

OP states whilst using SAMBA they cannot delete folders.  SAMBA is network protocol allowing file/printer sharing.

Could it be that SAMBA needs administrative permissions to allow folder deletion?

I don't know SAMBA and therefore don't understand why it is used but the basics of it being a "network protocol" for file/printer sharing for me states it's not a "file/folder explorer"

I asked if he was using the admin account to delete the folder. I some cases the admin account is needed. Still waiting on feed back.

hey i am using a user account with read and write access, i can delete files and folders on samba normally, just this one folder i named p2ptrans cannot be deleted using samba on windows explorer so i deleted it from the webui file manager that is the only folder and sub folders i cannot delete

maybe a folder used the the DNS or something. If a new problem appears you, it maybe related.
