Hi guys,
I've been using the DIR-880L for a week now. Just thought to try the QOS feature the other day, which is when i started experiencing problems. I've read that apparently Apple MBPRs that support AC on the 5ghz networks might be causing the crash & boot loop once QOS is enabled.
General Info:
Region - Egypt (Middle East)
Internet connection type - ADSL2+
ISP internet mode - Dynamic IP
Down speed: 8mbps, Up speed: 1mbps
Modem - TP-Link TD 8816 set to Bridge Mode ( DHCP turned off)
Main Router - D-LINK DIR 880L set to Dynamic IP PPPOE
Router hardware version - A1
Firmware - 1.02 WW 11/11/2014
Devices connected to router - iPhone 6, Samsung Galaxy S6/S3, HTC One, Apple MBPR early 2013 (no wireless AC support), Apple MBPR late 2014, Dell XPS 13 2015
Router is stable and solidly performs without QOS being enabled. No problem whatsoever in internet stability or reach. As soon as i add our devices in the QOS hierarchy, save and reboot, all hell breaks loose. Router continuously boot loops until i have to reset it to factory conditions.
Router was supplied to me by D-Link Egypt. Firmware installed out of the box was 1.01. Immediately upgraded to 1.02 and did a reset after that. Applied QOS and boom, same problem. After several tries and resets, still the same problem!
Was the problem patched with later firmware versions? I currently don't get any firmware update notifications from the router's page, however whenever i go to dlinkmea.com, i see that 1.03 is available for my region. Any ideas guys?
