I have this plug in use on a very expensive fish tank so that I  can monitor the power consumption.
However ,  today while I home I noticed that the emergency overflow was actived.  It turns out that power was cut to  the tank at the same moment the wifi went down!

This scares the crap out of me!

Is this design intent?

I've since removed the plug!

To make matters worse.  The wifi and Internet connection came back up.  The app says it's off!  So if I wasn't here it would never come back on! And my tank livestock would be dead!

What region are you located?
What Mfr and model wifi router do you have?
What wireless modes are you using on the main host router?
What channel are you using on the main host router?
Any other wifi neighbors near by?

1) What do you mean when you say "this plug" ?
2) What is the make and model # of "this plug" ?
3) If "this plug" is used to "monitor power consumption", then how can it "turn off" the device(s) connected to it, without being explicitly told to?
3) IF "this plug" can use a  wired network connection (Ethernet Cable), than that is the ONLY way you should be using it. Relying on "WiFi" for such "mission critical" uses is NEVER a good idea!!

• 2.4Ghz Routers only: Try single mode G or N or mixed G and N?
• Channel Width set for Auto 20/40Mhz or try 20Mhz only.
• Try setting a manual Channel to a open or unused channel. 1, 6 or 11. 11 for single mode N if the channel is clear. 13 for EU regions.

Any of this fails, I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
