I'm new here - bought a DCS-5009L and DNR-202L just before Thanksgiving.
I'm setup to use myDlink, but find the dlinkddns service easier to use, generally, so I usually just access through that.
I experienced issues with browsers and add-ins and Java using the recording to the DNR-202L so, until I got that figured out, I thought I'd use my Buffalo NAS drive, which can function as an FTP "server' (i guess) to keep the camera's recordings.
I see, in the camera setup, where I can set a schedule under Motion Detection, and I have (M-F, 9-5).
I see, in the FTP section of the camera setup, where I can "Enable uploading of video clip to an FTP server" and have it triggered by motion detection -- but it seems to be INDEPENDENT of the aforementioned schedule that I set for Motion Detection.
So I'm getting LOTS of records to my NAS drive, but OUTSIDE of the timeframe that I want. Yes, I can just go delete them -- but that takes time, and I'm a bit anal and find myself needing to watch them all before I delete them!
Can't these 2 settings work together, so that my motion-detected recordings get written to my FTP server ONLY during the time that I've set for motion detection?
I'm sure I'll have many many many other questions. I started out small, with my DLink setup, but hope to add one of the new "wide-eye" cameras and an outdoor one soon, too.
Thanks
