I have thought about this a little more. During the device setup, before it connects to wifi, it broadcasts it's own wifi signal; this is how the iphone connects to it. Once that connection is established, the device no longer broadcasts, so it's not possible for another mobile device to find and connect to it.

You can log in to multiple devices with the mydlink Home app installed to see your devices.

The sensor links to your account, not the actual phone or tablet.
