DCS 942L 1.26 stop motion detection and sd recording (BUG)
« on: December 15, 2015, 01:49:27 PM »

Hi, i have got a DCS 942L that worked perfectly until two week ago.

The camera is setup to send using FTP the motion images and it always record to the sd card.

When i bought the product all was working fine but now every time i reboot the camera (hard and soft reboot) the motion starts working and the camera record in the SD after some time (hours) its stop recording and motion detecting.

The only way to fix the problem is to reboot the camera from the web interface or unplug it.

I have tried to factory reset the camera and setup it without importing the config file but the problem still occur.

I see that the camera is not ok when i login and see the recording icon that is disabled. I have seen the logs entry but its empty it reports only movement before the bug.

Have someone of you got the same experience or problem?

Thanks for your help.

Any status on this?  ???

Link>Welcome!

  • What Hardware version is your DCS? Look at the sticker behind or under the camera.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the DCSs web page under status.
  • What region are you located?

What Mfr and model is the main host router?
What wireless modes are you using?

Test cameras with uPnP and uPnP Port Forwarding both enabled on ALL cameras: DCS Cloud (L) Series Camera Configuration and Mydlink.com

What is the size of the SD card? Try a different SD card?

Hello, here are the information you request:

Hardware version: Revision A
Firmware version: 1.26 (update_DCS-942L_1.26_5601)
Region: Europe/Italy

The router is a DGN-1000 with WPA2 PSK protection (i have other six DCS 932 Cameras but there are no problem with that)
The SD card is the original 32GB that is sold with the camera, i don’t think its something sd related. If was that the motion detection will continue working but all operations stop simultaneously.

I have even tried with uPnP settings but nothing changes.

There is a way to see in a detail mode the logs of the camera system? Something like command line?

Thankyou for the support.

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.
