Accidently loaded EU firmware on US router DIR-655
« on: January 22, 2016, 11:51:16 AM »

HI,

I accidentally loaded the 1.37EU firmware on my USA DIR-655 A3 Router. How you ask? I googled DIR-655 firmware and it took me to the dlink website but I didn't notice its was a European version.

I tried loading the US version 1.37 but it gives me error that firmware is either not correct or corrupt etc.

Is my router not going to function properly with EU firmware?

Thanks

Welcome!

Yes it should be ok.

However you could try this to see if you can get US FW loaded back on it:
Emergency Recovery Mode

This doesn't work. It says right on the page DIR-655 Rev A is not supported.

I wonder what is the difference between EU and US versions. Maybe someone knowledgeable in this can chime in.

Ok Ya, I forgot about Rev A not having recovery mode, sorry about that.
I believe there is a thread here that lists the process to revert to US. Try a search to see if you can find it. It's been a while since I saw it last. There is some files that you need.
