Hi,

I've been having this problem for ages now and i'm just about ready to throw my NAS away as it's totally useless for transferring large files across to it via a Windows file share / Samba connection.

I keep getting a Windows error whenever i try and copy any large fiesl 500mb + to my NAS. Strangely the file progress always stays at 0% and then eventually after a few minutes the above error pops up.

The strange thing is if i monitor the folder i'm copying to i can see the file size increasing and disk activity remains so the copy is still taking place. However if i try and access the file it is corrupt and un-usable?!!

This behavior is replicated on other computers on the same network regardless of Windows 7, 8, 10 etc...

Things i've tried :

Replaced the DNS320 with a new unit and checked that its running the latest firmware.
Tried it on several other computers.
Replaced my Gigabit network switch.
Replaced my network cables.
Tried looking at Autotune, jumbo packets etc and other suggestions, but nothing so far has worked.

What is causing this problem. With all of the things i've tried so far my finger is firmly pointed at the DNS320 as i can copy large files to other computers using the same method without any problems.....

Please help, this problem is pretty much rendering my NAS useless as i want to use it as a media / mkv server but i can't get the files across to it!

Not sure of everything you've stated/questioned but I'll give my best shot for advice

Is the drive mapped as a network drive - open My Computer (showing all drives) at the top "Map Network Drive"

Did you use the built in utility supplied on the cd to install for windows to access?   Windows Storage Utility available to download from your mydink account support page

Very strange indeed.  I have just been watching a couple of our DNS-320 boxes have a 3.6 GB file transferred to them without any problems - this our regular Sunday backup from our storage array.

Have you checked the CIFS/SMB settings on your box?
Have you tried enabling the FTP server on the unit, giving it a user and password and then tried transferring from your computer to the nas using FileZilla?
What are the results if you try without the win 10 machine/s connected to the network? (we have seen some strange things happen to CIFS/SMB connections when win 10 is included in the mix of computers on the network)

Try the first two, settings and FTP (remember to save any changes you make) and please report back.
