DWL-G700AP
« on: August 20, 2011, 07:09:38 PM »

I didn't see a category for this product so I am posting here. I have a DWL-G700AP I bought on EBAY. I cannot access it because the IP address range for it is 192.168.0.x whereas the rest of the known home networking universe, including my own network, uses 192.168.1.x. When I type in the default address of the G700 of 192.168.1.50 in my browser it cannot find it. Is there a way to change the address range of the G700 so that it is 192.168.1.x? Why did they pick 192.168.0.x anyway?

brian0, did you ever get an answer to this? I'm having the same problem -- my browser (on multiple computers) just says "This site can’t be reached -- 192.168.0.50 took too long to respond."

Link>Welcome!

  • What Hardware version is your DAP? Look at the sticker under the DAP.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the DAPs web page under status.
  • What region are you located?

Is the DWL connected to a main host router?
What Mfr and model is the main host router?
What IP address pool does the main host router use? 192.168.0.#???

If connected to a main host router, check the routers DHCP connected clients table to see if the DWL has a different IP address. If so, then you'll need to connect to this new IP address...

The OP has not been back since they first posted and we presume either his issue was fixed or moved on.
