Performance DIfference between the PCI and PCIE Cards?

Is there a performance difference between the two cards? I definitely know there is a price difference:D

PCIe is and expanded and newer technology that allows for more data throughput. Also the phyiscal interface is different from PCI.

Yes I know but is there a performance difference. Real world performance not theoretically bandwidth gains from pci express over pci. Both adapters have a maximum bandwidth of 320mbps. If for example the a file transfer within my LAN using the PCI averages at approximately 13% of the bandwidth can I expect the PCIE adapter to increase the performance by another 5%?

That would depend entirely on the motherboard you have connected to it. But myt guess would be no, there's not going to be any performance gains. PCI running at 33Mhz is capable of 133MBps. So I doubt a PCI running 800 FSB would be slower then 300mbps.
