DSL-320B : Power LED Oddity

I noticed yesterday the Power LED of my DSL-320B is behaving oddly:

At first it was off completely even with the unit powered up. I assumed the LED had failed and was organising a warranty replacement. Then later I noticed it was brightening up - at first quite weakly lit, then as the hours went by it got brighter!  Since then it has spent its time fading to black and then brightening again. At the moment it is fully on.

Does this signify anything special or is the unit just faulty?  I have never noticed it before, I just assume it should be fully on all the time.
