Shareport 1.10 & Printer Issue

Have you managed to use the Shareport 1.10 (Beta for use with new Beta 825 firmware) utility with the new 'connect to printer only when sending a print job' mode?  If so did the program find your print driver right away?

I think I've tried everything.  I've uninstalled and installed the printer driver several times, shut down, rebooted the computers (having same issue with both XP and Vista).  I've connected the printer directly to the machine and directly to the DIR-825.

In every combination a small screen pops up during the configuration indicating Shareport is trying to find the appropriate print driver and to wait.  I left it searching for nine-hours one day ;)  The curious thing is Shareport will connect directly to my printer and lets me print in the same way the original Shareport program did, no issues at all.

Bottom line, I know the print driver is loaded and Shareport 1.10 works fine in every way except when trying to configure for the 'connect only when printing' mode.  I'm looking for a solution.  D-Link support told me to be sure the print driver was installed and the printer was connected to the 825 :(  Maybe it's just a beta software bug.

Gadget, Yes, it seems to be exactly the same with mine too, i got a email saying to upgrade firmware on my router. (Dir-628) so i accepted it and downloaded the firmware and uploaded it on. But now, it seems to be the shareport light on the router shuts off, but the shareport application could tell you that there is a device connected to it...I connected my printer to it (Samsung ML2010 Laser) But it never can connect, i also try to   let shareport find the folders of the printer but never seemed to work, i believe this issue i happening with everyone, hopefully Dlink would get a new firmware asap! So we can use our shareport that we payed for.

Techau,

The original post (that you responded to) was posted back in April.  I never could get Shareport to work the way it's supposed to, that being access the printer for a print job then release it for others to use.  In other respects it's worked fine providing access to a backup drive connected to the usb port on the router.
