DNR-202L & My Dlink View app no playback

i have a DNR-202L and 4 cameras set up.  they record to a 2gb HDD.  the cameras seem to be set properly, they are set to record all the time, and when i go through the app, it shows each camera is recording.  they all show on the bottom right hand corner the red record button, but i cannot play back anything

when i tap the folder icon in the app, and choose any time to play back (as recent as 15 minutes ago, it will load for a while, then give me 'error there is no recorded data available for playback based on your selection'

it does this with all of the cameras.   are there any solutions to this? otherwise the whole system will be a waste of several hundred dollars

Does it work in IE on a computer?

I haven't tried the app.

Update to the latest F/W?

There are no more folders to click on, and the record icon is in the upper right now.

As Furry says, stop all recording before updating F/W.  They even updated the user manual with the newest F/W images. (Before it was all the orange/white/grey interface like the web cams).
