DCS2332L FTP test OK but no files are being loaded!
« on: December 30, 2016, 07:21:20 AM »

Hello,
So I've been having trouble getting my DCS2332L outdoor camera to FTP files to my WD 2TB Mycloud. So under the DCS2332L advanced settings menu I have put the following settings:
ServerName: Filled in a name
Server address: Added IP for Mycloud
Port: 21
Username: Mycloud username
Password: Mycloud Password
Remote folder name: dlink/videos
Passive mode: NOT enabled (although I tried to enable it with no luck)

So once I filled those settings in, I click "Test". I receive a "Test OK" update which indicates that it was successful. However, there are no videos or images being added to the Mycloud folder. I removed all the old Media and Event setup and re-added them with no luck.. I also logged into Mycloud and ensured FTP is enabled and the folder does not have any restrictions..
Any help to get this resolved would be appreciated!
Thanks!

You should get a test.txt in the folder.

Let's try something simple very simple first.

Try an easy username/password with no special characters to rule out those kind of issues.

Using your pc, use an ftp program to login and see where you are being sent to. Note any file structure for hints.
Try to ftp to this folder before creating sub directories.

Thanks for the reply!
So I removed any sub folders (made it go directly to "DLink") then retested connection (Gave me OK).. Also ensured my password and username is simple and confirmed.. still no luck :(
Also forgot to mention that I've been using a secure connection to my GMail for the past 2 years and its been working with no issues (videos and images and notifications)
Thanks!

Type in a bogus folder. Does it still say ok?
Try a bogus username/password. Still ok?

So I tried to change the folder name to a bogus name, I got an error. I changed it back to the correct folder name I got the test OK. I am using firmware V1.08.03.
I did review the other threads, one was suggesting that the passive function was turned off and that turning it on helped. I tried switching this on and off but didn't do anything...
I also checked the log and saw that there were multiple attempts for an FTP connection " 2016-12-30 09:40:30 admin FROM 1xx.xxx.x.xx SET EVENT SERVER 3 ; Name : MyBookLive, Type : FTP".
I'm at a loss here.. any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

I don't have a 2332L to test with, and never set up any WD drive for "cloud" capability.

Please setup some FTP client and try to access that way.

I have seen here that some dlink cams f/w need \\ and some need / when accessing.

I'm not sure I can help further without more details.
