I have been using my DNS-321 for several months now for backup and serving music, and recently I have found it hung/unresponsive. All three blue lights on the front panel are on steady, I can ping it but not open the web admin or telnet to it, nor does my nw music player detect it. Pressing the power button on the front panel does nothing, so I end up having to pull the power. It always comes back up, and yesterday I was able to copy all of its contents to a backup DNS-321, so it worked for a good long while.
So far the hangs seem random. I am going to try turning on the Firefly diagnostic logging and see if there are any smoking pistols left lying around. Any other ideas on how to diagnose this? Happened just now, it was playing music and without warning stopped. This time I had an open telnet session though and it is still active and responding so perhaps I can make some headway. UPDATE: This was not the same kind of hang - I think I did something with the admin gui to kill mt-daapd, I restarted it and am back in business.
Firmware 1.03 (but it was doing this with 1.01 as well), running the fun_plug 0.5 Firefly. SMART tests pass both disks. Unfortunately the scandisk fails immediately (ie I don't think it runs at all).
Any advice at all would be helpful.
