Unable to get full speed on LAN
« on: April 09, 2017, 12:19:40 PM »

Hi All,

Struggling with this, a little help please.

My setup is very simple. DNS 320L sharecenter connected to Virgin Media super hub (which is gigabit compliant), and my desktop also connected to same superhub. Both cable gigabit compliant, both lights green on superhub (confirming gigabit speed).

On my desktop, network connection properties confirmed 1Gbps speed. On setup of 320L, I have manually set the speed to 1000. Yet, the max file transfer speed I can achieve is between 17 to 20 Mbps. It never goes beyond that.

Any help or suggestion on what I could be missing here please?

Link>Welcome!

  • What Hardware version is your DNS? Look at the sticker behind or under the device.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the DNSs web page under status.
  • What region are you located?

Try using a external Gb network switch, like  D-Link DGS-105 or 108 and see. Those will get good LED indication of connection speeds.

Has a factory reset been performed on the DNS ever?
