Why do all devices have same mac address?
« on: December 21, 2017, 09:53:22 PM »

I have the latest firmware, set in bridge mode, cloning is off. For some reason my nighthawk router sees every connected device with the same mac address although it does assign unique ip address.  What is not set right so that every device will be seen by the router with its own unique mac address?

Link>Welcome!

  • What Hardware version is your DAP? Look at the sticker under the DAP.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the DAPs web page under status.
  • What region are you located?

Most devices that have wireless bridge mode mask MACs that are connected behind them. Sine the bridge has it's own MAC when in bridge mode, this would be seen by the main host router only when other devices are connected behind the bridge. Most bridges don't pass thru connected client MACs.
