Multiple volumes - one logical drive
« on: July 29, 2017, 02:14:41 PM »

Hi, I have just bought a DNS-320l and installed a single hard drive. I would like to split this into multiple partitions or volumes to create multiple accessible drives and folders. Is this possible and how do I go about it?

Thanks.

What is the object of the exercise?

This is a Network Attached Storage (NAS) device.  Most file and directory access are controlled by user and group setups (read the manual to get the idea of how that works).

If that does not do what you want you may have the wrong device or you might need to rethink your requirements.
