Hangs when copying files
« on: August 03, 2009, 10:11:48 PM »

I have a problem with copy a large bulk of files totaling 111GB. It gets about halfway through and then says that it can't find a certain file.  How can it not find it if it's there??  Other times, it just stops copying and sits there with nothing happening.  By the way, this is copying from the NAS to my computer.  I have HW A2 and firmware 1.00.

Update the firmware and see if you have the same results you are running the shipping firmware.

I was trying to back up my files so that I could update my firmware.  I was afraid of loosing anything.  I had to copy each folder one at a time which took me well over 8 hours.  I finally got the firmware updated to 1.03b9.  It runs a lot smoother than 1.00 did.  I didn't know the difference between EXT2 and EXT 3 so I set it up as EXT2.  I hope that was a choice.  I have 2 500gig hard drives installed and set as RAID 1.
