use QOS and set priority for the ports used by the games to 1 (highest) if you use torrents, set those ports to 100+ priority

I agree,  but i would the make the priority 5 or 10 not 1. Using 1 or "real time" is not a good idea. It can choke out the other needed connections. I would imigine your internet browsing would be very slow if you had Your torrents at 1 and you have DNS at default

Personally i would keep the first 1024 Reserved TCP ports as a priority of 1, your important services at 5, your unimportant services at 10 and your roommates at 100.

I am using XBOX live via a Xerox WNA−100 Bridge (as WLAN for my XBOX360 )
And the DIR-655 - Version: A2 and Firmware Version 1.03 ( latest firmware version for Europe - living in Denmark )
And I have not changed QoS from factory default.....
And I have NO lag what so ever -
Before I had a LinkSys WRT300N....with a lot of lag....

I have never had lag on my DIR-655...Unless i am using Bit Torrent(for legal backups of purchased movies)

If i have my Bit Torrent Client running i must have a QOS rule otherwise it lags.

Make sure your ISP is not causing the lag. Do a tracert and ping the ip addresses that may timeout during the tracert.

I prefer pingpath to tracert

I went into the settings of the 655, and Disabled "WISH". It seems wish tries to distribute Bandwidth according to usage. EX: I have two Laptops in use, plus printers, plus Xbox, playstaion, and WII. So its trying to satisfy all needs. However, If I am on XBOX live, and no other units running, If I disable Wish, Everything out of the pipeline goes to the XBOX.. Don't know if this is right, but it works for me.
