Hey...
Check out my issues in the wbr-2310 section of this board too. While I and many others have had lots of trouble with the WiFi part of that device, the irony is that the wired part of it has been rock solid all the time.
I think DLINK dropped the ball with these "G" type devices - and no, I don't think anyone at DLINK is doing anything about them, as the world is going WiFi with "N" type devices. I suspect they want these "G" routers to quietly die off... I'd just return it to the store and buy something more upmarket (read expensive), as they seem to work better than these more "lowly" devices in their product ranges.
Remember, no vendor is without problems. Everyone can have a batch or three that are "bad". Shame that DLINK let these stay out on the market so long....
By the way, I too really like DLINK gear from ages back. At work we purchased a lot of hardware (I have recommended about $100,000 of purchases of DLINK gear) from them over the years, mostly for wired hubs and routers, but we are now buying from other vendors due to QA issues, so it's not just these devices. Sorry DLINK, if I didn't have to I wouldn't, but you have to do what works, not what your heart tells you to do, if the purchase is a bad one.
