I have 2 dns-323 boxes both configured for RAID 1 and each having 2 500G disks.
I just purchased 2 1.5T disks and want to upgrade on of the boxes.
Here is how I was planning to proceed.
1) Switch off box (A), remove both disks, replace with new 1.5T disks, restart and format
2) Switch off box (B), remove disks and replace with those that were in (A)
3) Copy everything from (B) to (A)
4) Turn off box (B), put back in original disks and re-start
Is this a safe procedure? The only risk I can see is that in step (4) it may not recognize the original drives
Somewhat related is the question of how to copy.
I could do it from an attached machine but that seems a redundant trip. Is there a simple way to access the underlying unix systems to do a direct unix to unix copy?
