Sharecenter login fail, but password it's ok!
« on: August 04, 2017, 02:38:02 PM »

In any browser (IE, chrome, mozilla, android), my login is failling, but my password is ok. I percept when I type the password and click on login button, the browser adds automatically 3 characters, and the result is "You entered an incorrect login name or password. Please try again.".
Is there a bug or a virus on firmware (1.09)?

Please, help me!

I would say that is a problem with your computer.  Somewhere the incorrect password has been stored on your computer and is being used by the browsers.

A way of testing this is to use a tablet, for example, and try to login using that and the IP address of the NAS (example, http://192.168.0.32 use the correct one for your unit).

Also, be aware that the system login password is not the same as the user password (at least it shouldn't be) and if you have logged in as a user via the browser, this is the password that will be remembered.

If all else fails you will need to do a 'restore factory defaults' reset - be aware this will remove any user settings but NOT the data you have stored on the NAS.

The problem is not from my computer, the same effect happens when I sign in through other computers, tablet and mobile.
It's very strange but it seems that the NAS software sends a post completing 3 new characters in the password field, right after I click the login button. This happens on any computer, tablet or mobile phone, as I said.
I think the best way is to reset the NAS 'restore factory defaults'.
How to do this, using the buttons on the NAS, since I no longer have access via browser?
In this case, should I remove the disks to prevent format?

Thank you,
Marcelo.

You can do a factory reset of the DNS with out taking out the drives. You only loose the DNS configuration of apps and users and configurations there. No data on the drives is touched. Should be a reset button in back or on the bottom of the unit.
