Flashing blue light after firmware upgrade
« on: October 19, 2017, 08:17:57 AM »

I have just upgraded the firmware on my DNS-320L from v1.06 to v1.09b06.

It went through the process ok...then asked me to wait 140 seconds as it counted down, so I did.

Then it wouldn't load back up. When I went to check the physical device, the blue light is now just flashing.

I switched it off, switched it back on again and nothing...still just flashing blue light - I can't hear the HD spinning up, etc.

Please help - there is no way an official D Link firmware from the website should brick my device.

Link>Welcome!

  • What region are you located?

What Mfr and model is the main host router?
What browser did you use to update the DNS?
I presume you were using a wired LAN cable connection with a PC to update the DNS?
Be sure the IP address didn't change for the DNS after the update and your trying to access an invalid IP address for the DNS...Check the main host router for correct IP address for the DNS.

Others have updated there DNS successfully to v1.09...

Two things to check.
1) check the voltage being supplied to the unit from the power brick (also check the current if possible) should be 12v @3A.
2) try doing a hard reset using the reset button.
