DCS-2132-ES help
« on: May 20, 2017, 04:15:49 PM »

Hi I have a DCS-2132L-ES and I am trying to I guess make it a normal DCS-2132L and I tried the whole source code thing and it is extremely confusing and I messaged Thadiusdog as he is the one who has the firmware that works or whatever but he has not responded and even then I can't flash it because even though it shows up on my router page, going to the IP for it does nothing and it obviously doesnt get picked up by the 2132L setup wizard because it is ES I assume. I can't SSH into it or anything all I can do is see it on my list of devices on my network (it is connected by ethernet). If someone could help me to be able to flash firmware, and then maybe upload the modified firmware somewhere if possible, that would be awesome, Thanks

Does any one know the id/password for the DCS-2132L -ES I can see the ip I just need to get logged into the device. The wizard only works for cloud cameras.

I assume you are not using this with Sage/Hughes?  You will need to contact them for the username/password if you are.

D-Link defaults to "admin" / (leave password blank), but I believe the ES version has different defaults.

Maybe try http://www.dlink.com/uk/en/support/faq/cameras-and-surveillance/dcs-series/dcs_recovery_procedures_after_bad_flash_firmware

There was a post that a user mentioned that he was able to convert the ES version to use D-Link OEM FW. You might ask him for help on this. Sage discontinued support on the ES camera from what I was told a few years ago.

Hello All,
Let's dispel some myths about the ES camera....

1)   Log into the web interface with default username: admin   blank password.   Try https if http doesn't work.

2)  You can ssh into the camera:
Username: root
Password: hi3518c
Port: 8992

3) As far as I know it is impossible to convert these cameras to work with Dlink Mycloud.  All DLink cameras have a unique ID.  Since these cameras were meant to work with SAGE and use their cloud services Dlink made no provision for those id's in their system.  I read some post somewhere where some dude had 2 dlink cameras with the same ID's and all hell broke lose.  So, we can forget the idea of trying an existing ID.

4) 2132L-ES to 2132L
This would be an interesting.  I've looked at both GPL code bases and they are different.  It would be a major undertaking to figure out the differences, in my opinion.  It would be a good hacking project but other than that I'm not sure it's worth the time.

Hope this info helps.

I thought you had converted yours to OEM FW?

Ya we know MDL services are not supported or would not be supported on any converted cameras...

FurryNutz....going back and reading that thread makes it look like I recompiled source for the 2132L and got it working on the 2132L-ES.  This is not the case.  I recompiled the source for the 2132L-ES and got it working on the 2132L-ES.  This was primarily to get it to work with the Smartthings hub.

In regards to the MDL stuff, I just wanted to be clear about that because I have been getting a lot of requests for my firmware in hopes that it will enable the MDL to use the cloud services.

Cheers!
