DNS320L doesn't start up anymore
« on: July 31, 2018, 08:42:43 AM »

Hi,

Looked around here, but can't find an answer to my question. The power indicator of my DNS-320L keeps blinking blue, I don't hear a fan or other noises as before.
I've switched from Internet provider last week and haven't used my NAS in the last two months. I received the same router as the last I had from my previous provider an ZTE ZXHN H369A "Experiabox V10". I don't see the NAS as an active device on my router when I log in. I'm not sure if I have a hardware problem or maby something fixable through software.

to answer the questions asked in other topics:
What Hardware version is your DNS? Look at the sticker behind or under the device. A2 F/W ver 1.0
Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the DNSs web page under status. Can't check that, cause I can't log in Anymore. I gues DLINK_DNS320L(LW).1.08b08(3.07.0420.2016)
What region are you located? Europe - The Netherlands

Kind regards!

Can you swap LAN cables between the DNS and router?
Are there any LED indications on the LAN port connection in back if there is activity or not or at the router?
Check the power adapter tip for voltage and amps. Should be same as seen on power supply sticker.

Thank you for your quick reply! I've switched LAN cables, without any result. The green LAN light on the back of the NAS is on, on my router I've got an orange and a green light where my LAN cable is connected. I've also switched to another wall socket for power and I've always used the original power cable supplied with the NAS.

What do the Orange and Green LEDs mean on the host router? Look at the host routers user manual and it should give LED behavior information. Checking to see if there is a problem with the DNS or other wise. I presume that something is wrong with the DNS as it's not either coming to ready or the network port is not working correctly.

Have you tried a reset on the DNS yet? You can do a reset and it won't bother the data on the drives...Review the user manual for reset information.

The combination of the orange and green leds means I have a 1Gbit internal connection ;D. Did a soft reset of the router, which gave other IP addresses to some items in the network (that's a dns reset if i'm correct).

Still don't see the NAS pop up in the router.

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this.

We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.

You say the power LED keeps on blinking - this usually indicates a problem with the power supply, it also generally indicates that there isn't enough current (Amps) available although the volts may appear correct.

Try substituting another power supply with the same voltage (12v) and the same or higher Amperage.  If the unit starts as normal rep;ace the faulty power supply.
