Unbootable DNS 325
« on: July 16, 2018, 04:57:38 AM »

My D-Link DNS 325 refuses to boot up.
Two amber leds are blinking but the device never reaches the state when the fan spins up shortly. NAS is not reachable on the network.
I removed the HDD (after powering off the device), switched it on and it produces the same: two amber leds blinking.
Does the same with and woithout network connection.

Could you please advise what I should try to have it working again? I am open to install an other firmware (like alt-f) but I am not experienced with hw modding at all.

Thanks.

Two things.
1) check the power supply, it should be supplying 12v @4A*.
2) if the power supply is OK, open the unit and check the CMOS battery, should be 3v if not replace.

* the power may show 12v with no load but a much lower, or no, voltage under load.

What you are seeing indicates a bad power supply.
