SMBv2 support
« on: March 26, 2018, 06:43:05 AM »

I have a DNS-320L running 1.10(b03) and I'm trying to connect from a laptop running Win 10 Home. When I attempt to map a drive I got an error message pointing me to:

   https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/help/4034314/smbv1-is-not-installed-windows-10-and-windows-server-version-1709

Is there any active work to add support for SMBv2 on the DNS-320L?

How do I work around this to allow my Win 10 box map a drive to my DNS-320L?

Enabling the SMBv1 client on my Win10 machine does allow me to connect to the drive.

That said, when will we see an update so we can disable this vulnerable protocol?

If your using the recent FW version, there is only one vulnerability which has been fixed:
ftp://ftp2.dlink.com/SECURITY_ADVISEMENTS/DNS-320L/DNS-320L_REVA_FIRMWARE_PATCH_NOTES_1.10B01_EN.pdf

Something to contact D-Link support about and request a feature update.

The DNS line of products are all discontinued and will not see any non-security firmware releases.

On your windows 10 computer, go to Control Panel > Programs and Features > Turn Windows features on or off. Make sure SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support is checked.

I just bought my D-LINK DNS 320L here in Brazil and read that it will be discontinued is very sad.

This can not be true, this is unfair to the consumer, remove these devices from the store so that no more users buy something that will simply not work.

I have all computers on windows 10 and I received my DNS-320L today and I can not use that regrettable company.

IF your concerned about your DNS not working, You should return the unit to place of purchase.

Good Luck.
