Now that the DCS930 is in the Graveyard, as a "Product no longer supported", what does it mean for the Security patch that was promised for a year?

For those close to the company, won't DLink at least fix this problem dating back to October 2017, well before end of support ?

I am getting verification regarding firmware 2.15  and 2.16 for Revision Bx has KRACk fix in it, since it does not state in the release notes.

RevA was discontinued 5 years ago so getting fixes from the vendor is near impossible. You may want to contact tech support and have them contact D-Link HQ to see if any fixes are coming for revision A.

As we know by now, a fix was promised to be released "By end of September" 2018 but, as Free Support ended on October 31, 2018, and as "By end of September" simply vanished shortly after from D-Link's Support Announcement (https://tinyurl.com/y8mw9ook), it is indeed safe to assume D-Link have chosen to silently renege on their commitment, - without any kind of compensation, buy-back or new cam discount offer. Sad !
 
Incidentally, Rev A datasheet 1.00 is dated 09/10/13, so it ain't very likely DCS-930A got discontinued "5 years ago", - just two months after intro !!!

Have you called tech support/customer service?

What country are you in?

BTW the DCS-930L revA launched in the US October 2010. Not 2013. The last upload to the datasheet was 2013 thus the date on the support site. Rev A chipset was discontinued in 2013 (over 5 years ago). Rev B launched in May 2014.

Yes, I'm in the US, mostly at 70.127.xxx.xxx. But no, I didn't call support. Usually just get generic talking points, - and my time is valuable.
 
Please agree it is also misleading to show a date at the website that does not refer to the vintage of the datasheet, particularly when the datasheet itself lacks any indication. Showing a date when it last uploaded to a server is irrelevant to customers.

No offense taken. I completely understand the frustration and getting a time frame not met but unfortunately sometimes things get delayed, vendors do not deliver, understaffed, high costs, etc.  Getting simple firmware updates is and can be a difficult task with discontinued products. I cannot disclose too much about the business side / behind the scenes but D-Link is doing its best to get these fixes. Security is a top priority but sometimes things are out of D-Link's hands. D-Link isn't the only company with pending KRACK fixes. It hit the industry and a lot use the same chips and vendors.

I hope to hear something back this week.
