Internal Error
« on: September 02, 2009, 09:40:08 AM »

I've been using my DIR-825 for just under a year now without any hickups until last night.  This morning I got up and my network was down.  All the lights were flashing on the router as if everything was fine but there was no internet, lan or wan.  After playing around with it for a bit I decided to run the setup again and after every attempt I continue to get an error message " Internal Error " everytime at the configuring router point and never completes the setup process.  I've never run a firmware update to the device but after reading about the horror stories of the firmware updates on this site I'm not sure I want to try that.  I'm looking for some recommendations on troubleshooting this issue.

Thanks,
Tyler

Might be hardware.  It doesn't seem like routers last as long as they used to.

My LinkSys wireless portion died after about 2 years, which is why I just got a new router (825).  In reading, a lot of LinkSys folks were complaining that their units were dying in the 3 month to 2 year range.
