Omna 180 Abandoned?
« on: May 31, 2017, 01:22:39 PM »

So the Omna has been out for a while now and I haven't seen much of a change. Yes you've fixed some bugs here and there but there hasn't been a major update and having bought two of these cameras, with high expectations, I feel as though this camera has been abandoned by D-Link. I have yet to see any information regarding exciting updates or even future plans for the ONLY Homekit camera on the market. Honestly i feel like i have wasted my money on these cameras and should have stuck with Nest or any other camera on the market.

So my main question is: Does D-Link have ANY plans whatsoever, for the Omna or is a "what you see is what you get" situation?

What features are missing in your opinion?

D-Link doesn't post information about up coming updates for features that are forth coming. Updates happen as needed or if there is a big feature request by more than one user, after review it maybe added. IF you have any requests or feel something is missing, we recommend contacting your regional D-Link support office and talk to them about it.

D-Link has not abandoned this camera. This camera was designed for the Apple HomeKit infrastructure and as HomeKit grows, more features will be added to the camera. Many features are not in this camera because it is not compatible with HomeKit.

Yeah, this is my question, too. Not much activity here. Not much from D-Link.

Abandoned?

Were the sales poor?

I can suggest that you contact D-Link's customer support to inquire about any future updates or developments regarding the Omna camera. They may be able to provide you with more information on the matter. if you are i search of Chalets for rent. here is a link you must check out about Chalets for rent in Beirut. thanks
