How can I reach the firmware programmers and request a bug correction?

Hello all,

I have the A1 hardware version and the latest firmware. The Wake-On-Lan feature of this router doesn't work (I've tried every possible configuration). To be more specific, I can wake up the PC from within the LAN, but not outside of it (on the WAN side).

This feature is very important to me and one of the reasons I bought this router was because it claimed to support it. Is it possible to make a bug correction request to the programmers? Do they even listen? Do they speak English? Or are they a dollar-a-day slave programmers from China?

Or use the 'search' utility in this forum or the main D-Link support page.  I know the issue has been discussed quite a bit on the DIR655 forum and some solutions have been posted.

You may even receive a reply/solution in an answer to your post.

Hello,

I have implemented all the suggestions that can be found on the D-Link boards. I have even changed the LAN subnet mask to 255.255.255.128 and used the broadcast address 192.168.0.127. None of the suggestions worked. The only time that WOL works is internally withing the LAN, and also a few minutes after shutting down the PC from the WAN side. By the way, I have several clients for whom I recommended and installed the DGL-4300, and it works perfectly.

This is obviously a firmware issue and my only hope is that the programmers read this. I am sure the fix is easy, but who knows, maybe they don't give a crap.

As for your suggestion to contact D-Link support, I have done that before and it was a total waste of time. Suffice it to say that I would have had better results talking to the wall.
