I'm hoping someone can provide me some hints or guidance.
I have a DWR-961 cellular modem to connect to my home network with US Cellular. It says, under the covers, it is an AC1200 LTE Router.
I've contacted D-Link, and was told they do not support this device, so I already know that. I've spent over 3 hours with US Cellular, and they have only had me mess up my system and have to reset it and set it up again. So I'm hoping there may be a product that is similar that someone can at least tell me what settings to look for.
I have a LinkSys dual band extender that I've used with several brands of routers. I can't get it to work with my D-Link. When it sets up, it sets itself with an IP address of 192.168.1.1. I can configure the remotes for both 2.4G and 5G and the extender says it is connected. But when I try to ping anything, it fails. And it never shows fully connected via the idiot light on it which flashes instead of going solid on.
I messed with it, and if I manually force an IP in the 192.168.0.x subnet, I can get it so I can ping other devices within my home network, and DNS will resolve addresses externally, but I still can not access external devices.
I have also physically connected a linksys router to the lan connections, and it does the same... (also on 192.168.1.x subnet)
I suspect that there is a setting that is needed to allow the two subnets to flow. But my manual isn't clear on this, and I have not found anything on web searches online.
Any info or suggestions would be great. I know just enough about networking to foul things up, so I may be asking a question that is obvious to someone else.
Please help.
