Is there anyway to disable Bluetooth on this device once it is setup? Or at least have it stop broadcasting itself with its exact model so that everyone around knows of its existence?

Unfortunately there is no manual way to turn it off. It should turn off but I know my 8000LH broadcasts but others do not. You may want to contact tech support and report the issue. They can open a ticket (DTrack) and report the issue to the engineers.
