 ???
I was running fine on my DIR-615 and then started having problems.  (I did a FW update...to latest.) There had been some thunderstorms.  My problems are that Skype would disconnect after about 4 or 5 minutes.

Also, large downloads of over 16 MB would chug along and then stop.  I could not complete the download by restarting it in IE8 but Firefox was smarter and if I restarted the download it recognized that it already had a portion and would complete.  Also, I could pause and resume in the Firefox downloader and resume always picks up.

My daugher plays on-line games and her sessions freeze at about the 4 minute mark and she dies while disconnected; she is not happy.  I am not happy since I used Skype for my business and it silently disconnects my calls and ruins my client relationship.

Thinking that my DIR615 had been damaged since it used to work fine, I bought a replacement DIR-628 and immediately loaded the latest 1.20 FW (not beta version).  I then ran into the same problem.  I too have called my Skybeam ISP multiple times and had a service visit where they checked my error logs.  They saw no errors in 30 minutes.  No effect, also no errors if the incomming internet line is plugged directly into any computer.  Problem exists only with a Dlink router in the path even wuth only one hardwired connection plugged in and wireless turned off.

I saw the problem with the time server causing a reset and now I went in and selected the npt1 supplied by dlink.  I have not tried the connection for reliability.

HELP! Am I on the right track?

I'm having reliability issues with the latest version on DIR-628 also. After a day or two, the connection will just stop. The lights remain on, the WAN and Status lights flash, but I cannot access ANYTHING. Even the router config page.

I didn't have this problem with 1.13 firmware, but now that I've upgraded to 1.20b8 (because of another issue), I'm seeing this same problem as tropicalfish.  The router stops working every few days.  When the problem occurs, the yellow WAN LED is almost solid.  I am able to access other PC's on the LAN, but I cannot access the WAN, and I can't login to the router from a PC on the LAN (looks like it returns a blank http page).  The router does respond to pings from the LAN.  Next time it occurs I'll try pulling the WAN cable instead of power cycling, just to see what happens.

I saw this with my older DIR-615(b) router but I have been successfully been running my DIR-628 router for months, with 1.20NA firmware.

I too have a problem keeping connected.
I started with a Linksys Model WRT54G , it kept loseing the internet so i got a better one,
A Linksys Model WRT160N---same thing , and you have to call the Philipenes to reset it.
Friends tel me  , get a dlink , there better---so now i have a dlink DIR-628. The internet
comes and goes at will and it goes to dial up slow when it is up.
Every time the power goes off , I have to unplug everything , reinstall dlink ,and then it is ok again.
Until the next thunder storm or power outage. The power was out this morning , i am now dial up slow
and the internet comes and goes at will. I now have to reset before i can send this.
 My Q: is
Is there a reset that doesn't involve unpluging and reinstalling to get back to high speed???
I just typed this last sentance and the internet was gone again.

Go to that link to downgrade from 1.22NA to 1.12.
