I've read through all the threads on this issue that I can find but my problem seems to be a little different from the rest.
I've tried various drivers from Dlink and Atheros but as soon as the driver installation takes place, I get a lock up. After a force restart, I get a system lockup in Vista as soon as the OS loads and sometimes it doesn't get past the windows boot screen without locking up. If I do get lucky and get into the OS - in device manager, I can see the card present but disabled. If I try to update the drivers from a manual location, I get a Code 31 error (This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device).
The green light on the back of the card's panel never lights up.
It can't be the PCI slots since I've tried three different ones and my xfi audio card works fine in all of them.
Moreover, I can't get this card detected in Mac OSX either where it should be natively recognized as AR5008.
Thinking it might be a defective card, I got an RMA. However, I've run into the same problems with the brand new card.
My motherboard is the DFI Lanparty P35-T2RS and I have a Q6600 processor. Is there some PCI related BIOS setting I have to change?
