Connactivity sometimes stops

When I use my PC desktop and my dad starts to use the wifi on his laptop,the connactivity sometimes stops and I either wait for it to fix itsself or i unplug the power.It doesn't happen when I'm using the PC alone and the connactivity is only down for a short while but is there anyway to fix this problem?
