VoIP and SIP ALG Woes
« on: July 24, 2009, 03:12:21 PM »

Hello. I have a D-Link DIR-628 and a Linksys SPA2102. The Linksys SPA2102 is my VoIP adapter and I am using iTalkBB service.

My problem is with the D-Link router rejecting SIP ALG packets. While this does not cause a problem in general, it does block faxes.

I've tried disabling SIP ALG but then that results in the VoIP adapter not registering properly or giving me voice. I've tried disabling SPI, but faxes and SIP ALG packets are still being rejected. I've set Endpoint Independent for UDP and TCP (but not with SPI disabled) but SIP ALG packets are still being rejected and faxes fail to work.

All the ports needed for iTalkBB are being forwarded properly. Even in DMZ, the packets are being rejected and fax fails to work.

Any ideas or suggestions?
Thanks in advance.

I am having the exact same problems with a DIR-615. It started when I upgraded the firmware to the new 3.11NA version. Before that it worked fine. Sadly for me, I cannot downgrade to the old firmware!

If you find a solution, please let me know.
