Hi,

when trying to select more than one camera in the "Date Time Search Dialog" of Playback, I get the error message "Exceed the Playback maximum channels", which is not covered in the new V3.0 manual. I sorta kinda understand the message, but what would limit that maximum to ONE, where Playback seems to be able to run 4 cameras in parallel (seeing that you can select 1- or 4-camera layout).
Is there a registry-setting that handles that, before I go and jump under the Windows-hood wrt registry?

And why is the "Date/Time Search Dialog" different between Backup (shows events, like signal lost and general motion detected) and Playback (only can show actual recording present)? Mostly you would like to see the time the motion was detected in Playback, and not just in the Preview window.

Is this 'enhanced functionality' a bug or a feature? Or maybe a future option? Same for the "Date/Time Search Dialog" difference between Backup and Playback?

I have worked through the Registry Settings related to D-ViewCam V3.0 and found heaps of interesting -and non-working- options... But nothing related to Playback Channel Counts...

Are you able to see multiple cameras at the same time in live view?

I cannot, and also get this message. I think that they are related.

Yes, I can see all cameras simultaneously during local live view, but, even though Playback seems to allow multiple cameras (up to 4 it looks like) to be viewed at the same time, I am unable to select more than one recorded stream (= camera), and after the error-message is displayed, only the first stream is left highlighted.
I do not mind the limitation, but why then show multi-camera playback options?  :o

Yeah the Playback function supports playback of up to four cameras at a time. Thats the limitation of the software currently.

Yeah the Playback function supports playback of up to four cameras at a time. Thats the limitation of the software currently.

But how can you get the four camera-streams selected, as when trying to do that I get slapped on the wrist. It will not allow me to select more than ONE channel for Playback, even though I record multiple camera simultaneously.

The selection-process is similar to the Backup-Date/Time-selection, but when multiple channels are selected for playback and you release the mouse-button it directly slaps you around the ears with a wet fish...  :-\

Is the limitation related to CPU-type, -count or -speed? Setup is way better than minimum-requirements...

If you are referring to the remote playback function it is limited to 1 stream as well as the live stream. In local playback you should be able to have four playback streams.

That is what I thought too, but somehow I am not able locally to do playback of more than one single stream. When selecting more I get the error-message... I have tried all kinds of combinations and on multiple machines, but it's a no-go...

Your right...It seems it is limited to a single video stream in playback. I had to double check this.

Phew! I was getting worried here.   :o

But still at some time in the future it will be allowed, because otherwise it would never have been built up the way it is now.

What about the other question I had: Difference in Date/Time search dialog between Backup and Playback... Both let you show recorded data, but only the Backup Date/Time selection will allow you to show additional events (like General Motion Detected), whereas especially you would like to find/play back that moment in time a motion was detected, when running scheduled recording...

I also found that Lost Signal is not shown in the Date/Time selection when "checkmarked" even though the Event Log does record it. I have had a spotty camera, which lost signal a few times, but the selection does not show it. Odd...

Ill look into this and see if some things like this can be added in the next release.

Just some added info. The Remote Playback does have all the info-display selectable (so events and the two fixed options to the left of the screen). So only for Local Playback is it different... Don't ask me why.

Another question: Remote Backup does not allow deletion of data of the period defined. Is this by design?
