Like I said in my first post, I had read that thread among others.  They all pointed to a Norton/McAfee issue.  I have neither on my computer.  I do have Trend Micro as my firewall.  I checked to see if the same "fix" could apply but it appears that all the rules setup for my firewall allows for the IPv6 transmissions.  So I don't "think" it's my firewall, but who knows.  I'm certainly not an expert in the field which is why I posted here.

I always research other posts to solve my issue as its the fastest way to a fix.  I just didn't find my specific issue listed.

I have had the same problems with wireless restarts. Then I read somewhere that it could be related to DHCP - maybe Windows 7 or IPv6 - that caused some kind of buffer overflow in the DIR-655. Well, I have reserved all my addresses and it had been solid for 48 hours.  :D

I had same problem and tried just about everything suggested in this forum.  Pixielark suggested in another thread changing the wireless mode from N to B+G as that worked instantly for him.  Worked instantly for me too so you might want to try it if you can live without the extra range or features that N provides.  In my case, living without N is much better than the constant freeze ups until new firmware comes out (assuming that will even fix the problem).

There has been other replies, in other sections, stating that if the "DNS Relay" and / or the "Advanced DNS" features are enable, there can be wireless restarts.
