Has anyone successfully used two 2TB drives in RAID1?
« on: July 26, 2009, 01:00:33 AM »

I'm planning to use 2x WD20EADS (2TB) drives with DNS-323 in RAID1. Has any one tried this successfully? Thanks.

Thanks. I can see that 2TB support is added in 1.08. Too bad I probably have to wait.

D-Link has said that the final release of 1.08 will be out this July, so having that said you only have to wait a week if there timing is right

I realize this thread is a little old, but the WD20EADS is listed in the following official thread as a supported HD for the 323.
http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=672.0

I find this suspicious since 1.07 is the latest official firmware and claims that support for 1.5TB was added.  I just bought a DNS323 assuming I would have to be stuck with the 1.5TB limit, but like mentioned earlier, I see that firmware 1.08 does/should/will support 2TB.

Anyway, I haven't bought any drives yet so I have the same question that was initially asked and thought I'd bump the thread.  Anyone have a 2TB RAID1 array with 1.07 firmware?  (D-Link, you claim at least one 2TB drive is supported!)

+1 on the above and I was wondering if people have a preference on the two following 2TB drives:
WD20EADS verses ST32000542AS

I know the WD is the only supported model at the moment but suppose I wait for 1.08 and both would be supported, any thoughts on one verses the other? Thanks in advance.
