User problem

hi,

As far as I understand I can set share privileges within the dns-configuration.
I wanted to create an user with the same name as I use in Windows (Windows7 Ultimate 64bit).
My username is "Jörg".
But this name is not allowed, also my password has only 4 letters (requires 5 or 6...).

Do I have to create a new Windows7 user with allowed characters and pw-length???

On my Synology NAS I can create an user named Jörg, also permissions work correctly with this user.

Any solution?

Hi shadow_empire,

Stick to usage of simple characters (a-z, A-Z, 0-9); many systems out there have difficulties with handling of non-unicode characters and such.

I am living in a house where sometimes people visit.
When their user names have non-unicode characters, what shell I tell them?
Change you username, only then I can give you access to my nas???

Looks like it...The user name to access the NAS does not have to match the Windows User Name or password if that is what your are referring to.
