Hello I got this wireless router and it is working fine until I move soem furniture around and I ahve to disconnect the router and my primary desktop PC ...after all it is working fine but I ahev some issues like ;
1) why in my laptop in all the connections available my connection = DLINK said it is mark as unsecured , maybe is because I unplug for a while this router ? anyway I came back to the set up router link and I saw the router was unprotected so I click on the "WPA2" secure ... I click the save option ...this will fix my connection against intruders ?...
2) checking my set up options in the router right down the bottom area by "Number of Dynamic DHCP clients" I saw a lot of names and IP numbers (42) and the "Revoke or Reserve" ...I do not know this people ...what I need to do ? I am the only one in my network , can somebody help me out to what I need to do ? ...with all this names and IP numbers ?...I do not want to mess up my router that's why I am in this area for recomendations , thanks

most likely you did not secure your router properly. Go back into the router and go through the wizard. It will take you through the entire process to secure your network. Once done, you will have to remember that key.

Also, the other ips are likely some people using your wireless signal. Identify your ip address and then you can revoke the other addresses.

First, secure your network, second connect using your WEP, WPA, or WPA 2 key. That alone should kick any unwanted users of your network.

ok, just to be sure, did you have to enter your key the first time you connected to the network? if yes, then it is secure and yes you should revoke all other IP that you don't recognize.

... or, if you now have it setup securely, power cycle the router.. as in unplug power, wait 10 min, plug power in.  So long as it's now locked down and such -- those other clients will try to re-connect and then get prompted for a password.  Probably easier than 'revoking' or messing around with other things.

+1 on that. I forgot about it. That is the easiest way to kick unwanted people off when the router is secured :)
