FTP "error" and 2nd drive problem
« on: September 22, 2009, 03:52:10 AM »

I've got a nas (dlink dns-323) and the following things occure:

1. When i dl from an ftp using the build in ftp downloader it only downloads the even files (.rar00, .rar02, .rar04, etc.) and it doesn't download the .rar01 files etc.
(The ftp server is accessed through the internet)

2. There's 1 Samsung spinpoint F1 1TB drive in there since i bought it. Now i wanted to add a 2nd drive (again a Samsung spinpoint F1 1TB drive) and when i start up my nas after installing it my internet connection drops down. On all the pc's that i've got. The only way to fix this is to reboot the pc's and reboot the router to.

Extra info:
The nas is a DNS-323 Hardware Revision B1
The nas has got a static ip adres. (tried it befor without static ip didn't work either) and dhcp is disabled on the nas now (wasn't befor, using the routers's one only now.)
I'm using a ciso linksys WAG160N router.

I am curious, What type of FTP software are you using?
Did you do anything else to help the connection process?

I am using Filezilla and can't seem to log in to the built in FTP on the unit.

I forwarded all ports and checked each setting more than 3 times.
I also have a dyndns account on it as i have a pppoe connection.

Thanks

I just use the standard ftp software on the dlink to connect to an external server through the internet.

Now i was able to format the 2nd drive and the disk was usable, but after having controller error's when i copied from the 1e drive to the 2nd one now i can't seem to acces it anymore.
I get an ip problem popup and i lose my connection when my nas is running.
My nas ip isn't static but i can't figur out what's wrong with it.

Using the dlink easy search util doesn't work either.
