Hello,

I used to use the SharePort Network Utility with my DGL-4500 Router on a wired network. But since I connect to the network through WiFi with a DWA-552 Pci card i get the following errors:
"Access violation at address 004312F3 in module 'SharePort Network USB Utility.exe'. Read of address 00000008."

The D-Link SharePort Window says:
"No USB device is detected.
Please plug in one of the below USB devices.
(Printer, MFP, Scanner, Storage Devices)"

Is there a way to make it work?

NB: DGL-4500 FW ver = 1.15
DWA-552 FW ver = 1.5
SharePort Utility ver = the one before the last, the one for the 1.15 DGL-4500 FW.

Yes that's it, the SharePort Utility ver is :1.14.0.0

It would help if you would mention the OS that is crashing. Also send the content of the error log.

This might indicate a memory problem on your hardware (PC).

I'm on Windows XP Pro, SP3. Concerning the log, I have to admit I don't know where to find it. I checked on the following folders:
- Program files
- Document & settings\My user\Application Data
- Document & settings\My user\Local settings\ Application Data
- My documents

Is the error a "Blue Screen Of Death" type error? If so, Demonized is possibly referring to the memory dump that occurs after every BSOD error. I think that log is found in the root folder. I should know, I create enough of them.

Ah yes, of course, the event viewer. Something I've become very familiar with as of late.

As a Windows user that is virtually impossible to avoid 
Although W7 does a great job the last two months.

Hi,

Thanks you all, for I just discovered the event viewer [Unfortunately, as a windows user, I'm in love with it]. It indicated an error while loading some COM+ services. I Started them [3 services all together: COM+ Event System, COM+ System application, and DCOM Server Process Launcher], and now it works just fine.

I just finished about 12 hours of troubleshooting a blue screen crash in vista 64 that got solved by removing sharepoint. I wasn't even using the software, but it would load on startup and after I updated my atheros l1e network adapter driver it crashed at the end of installation. I did all kinds of searching, and eventually found safe mode with networking allowed me to go on the internet just fine. If I even sat at the normal login screen for too long the system would crash. I figured it might be the atheros and installed another card I had, still crashed. So Eventually I got frustrated and went on an uninstall spree of all network stuff, restarting after each one. When I uninstalled sharepoint the system crashed in the same way it did at bootup. I used revo uninstaller to uninstall it completely and when I rebooted, no crash! I enabled my atheros with the updated driver and it's working great! I'm using the Asus p5q as well. I hope this helps if anyone else getting something like this.
