Multiple Network Instances Problem
« on: November 03, 2009, 11:04:58 PM »

I'm running Vista Basic on a desktop with a DWA-552 Xtreme N Desktop Adapter.  I had my DIR-625 RangeBooster N Router running just perfect, but because I needed to physically reconfigure my network, aka...  swapping wireless cards in the various machines I have.

I did a factory reset because of connection problems I was having. Actually I did it a couple of times, as I wasn't sure whether I'd done it right.  I do have a working network now, with a properly configured DWA-552 connection but, when when I click "Connect to a Network" I also see four other networks labeled Dlink_Wireless0, Dlink_Wireless1, Dlink_Wireless2 & Dlink_Wireless3 that point to the DIR-625, configured and not configured properly. I  have tryed deleting them via Windows, but they keep reappearing after reboot.

They are not displayed on My Vista Home Premium desktop, with a DWA-160 Xtreme N Dual Band USB Adapter, and my my Acer laptop. Anybody have any thoughts that might point me in the right direction?

Thanx.

The connections may be being pulled from the software that came with your adapter. R u using the connection manager that came with your wireless adapter. If not try uninstalling it.

Just a shot in the dark but you can try  resetting the TCP/IP stack.
