IPv6 issues
« on: November 10, 2009, 01:07:03 AM »

Having some issues with IPv6.
Running 6to4 and stateless autoconfiguration.

Sometimes the radvd daemon stops running when changing other things in the webui and saving those settings(router reboot?), I can see this if I run tcpdump on a computer that router adverts are gone.

Sometimes the radvd is starting when changing setings in webui(logged by syslog and see packets in tcpdump), but when that is the case, most of the times the LAN IPv6 Address is set to "None" so nothing works anyway(can ping on the router in "tools->system check" but not from any host behind the router).

Sometimes it actually works, but that is a rare case and as soon as any setting is changed(or reboot) it fails to work as described above.

I am running firmware "2.01EU , Tue, 30, Jun, 2009" on a "B1" and I know this is beta but it is needed for the voip to work.

Am I the only one trying out IPv6 or does it work for everyone else?

I've have similar issues with IPv6.  When changing some settings it stops dishing out IPv6 addresses and a reboot doesn't help.  This isn't helped by the fact that I can't seem to run a script when the WAN gets connected so if my connection drops (wind storms of late), then I must manually update my IPv6 tunnel info... and sometimes even changing those settings craps out the IPv6 on this thing.  Haven't found a fix yet.

Still waiting for DD-Wrt or similar to be ported.

Using IPv6 on both DIR-615 and DIR-825.  Both seem to work as advertised, except for DHCPv6.  Cannot seem to get reliable DHCPv6 operation from either DIR-615 or DIR-825 when connecting to Windows 7 out-of-the-box.

What is even more annoying: I have a Linux PC as router in my network. It runs the radvd for IPv6 as well. As a logical consequence I switched my DIR-825 to Link-local only in it's IPv6 settings. However it still sends out router advertisements and depending on which one (either my Linux PC's or the DIR-825's) reaches the client first all IPv6 gets routed to the DIR-825 which in turn has no IPv6 internet connection. So all clients that are routed over the DIR-825 can't use the IPv6 network.

After I installed OpenWRT on my DIR-825 I have more control about what happens behind the scenes.
