firewall setup

I have just replaced my DI-624 with the DIR825.  I use Bittorrent/Vuze and am concerned about making sure the firewall is intact.  There used to be a tutorial for router setup to suit P2P applications on the 624 but I can't find anything for the new Router.
Can anyone point me at a router specific firewall setup for the P2P applications?

I tried the NETGEAR WNDR3700 and it had very little in the way of firewall setup options which would have been fine if it worked but as soon as I kicked off a P2P connection my McAfee firewall was working overtime catching PINGS from the WAN and unsolicited UDP connection attempts.  About 4 per second according to the log.  plugged in my old 624 router and that dropped to one per 10 minutes.  This was why I switched back to Dlink.  But the interface has changed so much since the 624 that I would like some help to make sure I get the best protection possible.

Use of torrents always have some level of risk. The router's firewall will allow incoming connections that first start inside your network as per say from the P2P application. Nonetheless, the unsolicited connection requests will be blocked. Now, if you use port forwarding to your P2P application, you will start seeing the previous reaction with McAfee. You will be fine with it's default setting though.

Thanks--sounds comforting but I HAVE used the default settings since I couldn't find any place to enter the "block WAN to LAN ICMP" type string that i used in the 624.

Given that I AM using the default settings I can't tell if I'm using port forwarding---I'll have to look for that.  Something HAS to be wrong since I don't get the mcafee hits using the old router

OK its working.
Had some help from dlink support (thanks guys).
Turned off UPnP protocol support.
Then went into ADVANCED/Port Forwarding and entered the IP address of the bit torrent machine (I have used reserved addresses) and passed all traffic on my selected TCP port to my machine.

I still get one PING through every few minutes but nothing like the 4 to 10 per second I had before

I have problem like this.. I replaced DIR-825 Rev.A to DIR-825 Rev.B and my DNS-323 Bit Torrent client stopped working. 
I don`t remember playing with ports on my old DIR-825, everything was working just fine.

I think I tried everything, port forwarding, virtual server... nothing works. I`m bummed.  :-[

Not sure I can help---the 825 worked with my bt torrent client with factory settings.  The only issue was that that configuration let a lot of traffic through to my software firewall.  perhaps revert to factory settings and try again?
